The Kilmarnock and District Can Cycle Charity
Kilmarnock and District Can Cycle are a registered children's charity, their workshop is the former Scout Hall in the Shortless area of Kilmarnock. All the collected aluminium cans are then taken to Castlemilk Community Can Recycle Plant to raise the funds to repair old bicycles.
Mr Neil of Stewarton is really pleased with the communities involvement, the local community police officer's have been a tremendous support not only donating money but helping to build valuable contacts with local schools and in the development of a promotional DVD. Their ultimate goal is raise substantial funding so they can employ staff to offer a FREE bike repair service to local residents.
The Charity uses the money collected from the aluminium cans to Recycles Bicycles and send them to Communities in the Third World, as well as offering low cost cycles to the local children.
